What if i need to make a complaint?
At Mist Counselling, I am committed to protecting your privacy and handling your personal information and clinical notes with the highest level of security. If you believe your personal data has been mishandled, breached, or processed incorrectly, you have the legal right to lodge a formal complaint.
In line with UK data protection regulations, please follow the procedure outlined below.
Step 1:
Submit Your Complaint to us before escalating any matter externally, UK law requires that you raise your data protection concern directly with my practice so that I can investigate and rectify the issue.
How to submit: Please send your complaint in writing via email to myra@mistcounselling.co.uk
What to include:
You do not need to fill out a complicated form. Simply provide your contact details, a brief description of your data concern (including dates if known), and your preferred outcome.
Step 2: Our Acknowledgement and Timeline
30-Day Acknowledgment: I will officially acknowledge receipt of your data protection complaint within 30 calendar days of receiving it.
Investigation: I will immediately initiate a thorough internal review of my data storage, email logs, or electronic systems without undue delay.
Updates: I will keep you actively updated on the progress of the inquiry. I aim to provide a full, written response detailing the outcome of the investigation within30 days.
Step 3: Your Right to Escalate
I aim to resolve all data concerns swiftly and transparently. However, if you are unsatisfied with my final response, or if I fail to acknowledge your complaint within the statutory 30-day window, you have the legal right to escalate the matter to the UK regulatory authority.
You can report your concern directly to the Information Commissioner’s Office (ICO) within 3 months of our last meaningful contact:
